On Friday, 23rd of August, we held a women’s self-defense seminar at Titan Fitness Allenwood. Titan Fitness has a wonderful community, and we were delighted to work with Sean and his students. We covered a number of topics throughout the session, and everyone put in a solid 90 minutes of hard work.

Understanding practical self-defense solutions is important. Increasingly, people, especially women, are interested in personal safety, and Krav Maga Self Defense is a fantastic way to bridge this gap. We hope they never have to use the techniques covered in our session.

After and taxing warmup we covered the following topics:

  • Striking – combinations of practical strikes.
  • Stances – how we stand and the link to our mindset.
  • Violence – social and anti-social violence.
  • De-escalation – avoidance, using your voice, common objects, and trusting your instincts.
  • Escaping front chokes – two options.

We then put all of this to the test with a busy summary drill, discussed the topics covered in the session, and had a Q&A. A big takeaway from the session: “The worst thing to do is nothing.”
