Here is quick summary using inside sweeping defence against various attacks with strikes and weapons, moving to the Live side. This can be tactical behavior or based off natural reactions – in a fight or when opponents attack and the defence can leave you exposed. We have created another video focusing on Inside Defence moving to the Dead Side. You may not have learned these techniques but you will recognise the principles in the defences.

General Principles:

• Regardless of the attack in this video, there is an inside sweeping defence.
• Although these are different attacks, to different heights and with weapons, the principles/checkpoints are similar.

Checkpoints

• Hand & Body = 200% defence (100% hand / 100% body)
• Move out of the line, to the live side, but cover when vulnerable (knife, strikes, stomps).
• Finishing mode – a series of attacks.
• Deal with the attack, then deal with the attacker.
